Flat Feet

Have flat feet?

This in its self isn't a problem, loads of people have them and its mostly due to your genetics. Sometimes unfortunately for some people it leads to pain in the feet, knees, hips, back. This is when you really want to do something about it. Not to worry there are a few things you can do to help your feet. The long arch that runs from your heel to your forefoot is supported by ligaments and muscles. Strengthening exercises for the little muscles in your feet can help a lot. Sit down and take the weight off. Imagine there is a pin under the sole of your feet (exactly where that arch is I mentioned above) and try to left the sole of your foot off it. Its a small movement but you should feel it working especially if you have a flattened arch. Give it a try when you are sitting at rest during the day. Try 10 every couple of hours and see how you go after a few weeks you should see the difference. If all else fails then an insole might be what's needed but it certainly won't do any harm to strengthen those muscles, we all spend some time during the day on bare feet!
